Is that Fall I smell in the air?? YAY!!!

Well friends, it has been an interesting summer! I can’t believe that it’s almost over! I find myself growing more and more excited about the prospect of Fall’s arriving! It has begun to subtly infiltrate the air and I LOVE it! Fall is officially my FAVORITE season!!! It has been for a long time, but I, apparently just made it OFFICIAL! Let the world know that I LOVE the FALL!!! YAY!!! For what reason, you may ask? And I’d respond with one of “The Sound of Music’s” theme songs…”These are a few of my favorite things…” and if you were to ask me and I was in a mood such as i am currently, you may , just possibly, witness a “Lanae’ Hale/Schlessman Jig”!!! Ps…my legal last name, since being married to my sweet hubby, is Schlessman. (It’s German, if you were wondering.) And, unfortunately for my husband (Well not really, because, He says I liven up his life, so maybe i should say FORTUNATELY for my hubby, a little bit of that Hale just wont shake of! That’s the part of me, that just might do a little irish jig while singing “These are a few of my favorite things” after being asked why I OFFICIALLY deem Fall my favorite season!

Clear as MUD??!!!

Ps…That was a phrase that my mom used repeatedly during my childhood, and somewhere along the way, possibly adulthood, I actually understood and greatly appreciated the meaning, and therefore, use it spasmodically in blogs such as these! There are no copyrights involved, so you are welcome to introduce this phrase into your own vocabulary and confuse your own children until they reach puberty and learn how to appreciate it’s simple yet profound meaning.

Anyway…back to FALL!!! (ps….I think I can also OFFICIALLY announce my self diagnosed A.D.D tendencies!)

OKAY, these are a few of my FAVORITE things about Fall…. BOOTS, pumpkin spice and apple spice candles, Pumpkin pie (which I’m not a HUGE fan of during any other season BUT FALL…and it HAS to have coolwhip on it!!), cool breezes without humidity, the deep blood red and fire-y orange hued leaves, pumpkin patches, hay rides, THANKSGIVING (which happens to be my most greatly anticipated meal of the year! I LOVE Thanksgiving FOOD …I usually get made fun of for it because I mix ALL the food together at thanksgiving and eat it! YUM!!! What most people see as an inedible, lumpy discolored mess, I see as the beautiful, scrumptious, cacophonous mix of color and flavors that will CHANGE YOUR LIFE!! You could probably guess how that went over the first time I had Thanksgiving dinner with my hubby’s family….heheeee…. Okay, back on track, cute sweaters, carmel apple cider at starbucks, corn field mazes, scarfs that I never wear because they itch my neck, but I think are BEAUTIFUL (okay, maybe not itch my neck, but they feel weird…opps A.D.D), visiting family, crunching dried leaves while walking, the smell of cinnamon, fresh figs in season, leaves slowly floating off trees, piles of leaves that just beg to be jumped in, turning the A.C. OFF and opening windows, going for walks and holding my hubby’s hand in the cool of the evening, and finally (oh and I’m sure there’s more) the smell of crisp Autumn air just makes my heart happy!

Okay, well that will do for now! I would love, however, to hear about your feelings of Fall….
