“Here’s to the Girls”

During the honest moments, I have been blessed to share and listen to women and teen girls. I have found story after story that reflects similar heartache and experience as my own. So many women and young girls deal with similar issues of insecurity matched with the fear of appearing weak. Sadly, most girls willingly believe the lies that cause their self-doubt. Women desperately need to be reminded of their worth!

Back to School Tour…and my birthday!

Hey Friends!

I hope you all had an amazing week! I can’t believe it’s already Friday! I had the pleasure of being apart of the Back to School Tour last weekend, featuring Chris Sligh, Aaron Shust, and Andrew Witt.  It was a lot of fun!  I really enjoyed getting to know all of the guys.  Oh and btw, we are traveling in two 15-passenger vans with ALL guys! So, excluding the cramped space and the smell of hotdogs and sweat permeating the seat cushions, I really enjoyed when the guys began sharing their love stories about how they met their wives.  As a girl, I eat that kind of stuff up, ya know what I’m sayin’??!! J  It was neat to see the heart behind the music and musicians.

This tour has been especially fun, because I have an awesome band backing me up.  Up until now, with the exception of a few one off dates, I’ve traveled alone and have accompanied myself with my guitar and pink capo!  As you can imagine, I’m having so much fun getting to play with a band.  It adds so much energy!

If you guys are near any of the dates, please come out.  It would be awesome to get to meet you!

It was my birthday this week and my amazing husband took me to a real nice dinner and hotel to celebrate.  We had SO much fun!  He’s the BEST husband in the WHOLE world!!!  He even did a chocolate/mud mask with me!  I think his motivation was the fact that it had the word chocolate in it, however, he was sorely disappointed when there was thick, brown, slimy paste smeared all over his face, and he was told he couldn’t eat it.  It wasn’t ACTUALLY chocolate!  It was all down hill from there.  Between his sealed lipped whimpers, squinty eyes revealing the slightest hint of regret, and his inverted smile (aka: the CUTEST “I’m only doing this because I love you” smile/frown), he barely missed the part that said he had to keep the mud caked on his face for 15 WHOLE minutes!  There were several half skeptical inquires of what the mud was supposed to do!  “It’s a deep pore cleanse, honey!” J Just another “Team Schlessman” feat, in the name of love! You know your man’s a keeper when he endures girlish primp sessions! I love him!
Anyway, I hope you guys have an awesome weekend! I will be heading back on tour with Chris and Aaron in a few weeks, so I’ll be keeping you updated!

Blessings,

Lanae’Hale

Hey Friends!!!

Hey Friends!

I hope all of you are doing awesome!

I had a show in Florrisant, MO this weekend. My friend G.W. from WIBI put the show together and I was able to play at his family’s home church.  There were a lot of really sweet people there and, of course, G.W.’s awesome wife, Carrie and their four amazing kids!  The kids spent time serenading me before the show with sweet little songs they had written.  One of them asked for my song writing advice… SO CUTE!

Several of us went to eat after the show together, and that was a blast! One of my favorite parts of getting to travel is getting to meet cool new people and getting to spend time with them!  So we did just that over several glasses of raspberry, kiwi, and mango lemonade. J

There are some cool things coming up on my schedule!  I get to play a show at the Lifelight Festival in South Dakota this weekend!  I’m super excited about it! The following weekend I head out on the road with the Aaron shust/ Chris Sligh Tour.  I hope you guys can make it out to at least one of the dates.  Check my website (lanaehale.com) for where we’ll be.  We might just be coming to your town!  I’d love to get to meet you guys!  J

I also wanted to let you guys know of some AWESOME new music coming out from some of my label mates.  You guys HAVE GOT to check it out!  If you’re like me, you’re always wanted good new music to sing your heart out to!

Jason Gray – Everything Sad is Coming Untrue (releases next Tuesday, September 1). And if you haven’t seen all his crazy pre-order packages, make sure to check them out www.jasongraymusic.com

These guys are great artist but really cool people too!  Let me know what you think!!!

Hope you all have an awesome week and thank you so much for the prayers!

Florida Adventures!

Florida Adventures!

Hey friends!  I hope you guys have been doing awesome!

I just got back from a little vacation my husband and I got to take together.  We went to visit my family in Florida and we were able to be a part of a surprise 50th birthday party for my mom.  It was SO fun!  My mom was COMPLETELY surprised and she started crying when she saw Josh (my amazing husband) and I walk through the door!  It was awesome!

It was so good to get away and just go home.  It was so rejuvenating to just spend time in the place of my roots.  Do you guys ever feel the need to do that sometimes?  Anyway, I had such a good time.

My hubby and I got to go to the beach with my family.   We saw stingrays, and that was only cool because we saw them at a safe distance.  It’s crazy how I grew up by the beach and yet I am completely terrified of any potential encounter with sea life.  My husband has to stay RIGHT beside me in the water or I will have heart failure.  I squeal at pretty much anything that touches my feet, with the exception of sand, and even then my imagination could create a non-existent monstrous undertow with teeth in the form of sand dollars.  It doesn’t really matter who’s next to me, if something even touches my little toe, whoever it is WILL suddenly find themselves giving out free piggy-back rides!  I hope they have a strong back!  Oh well, I’m sure I create quite an entertaining scene for innocent onlookers. J  My husband and I attempted to build a sand castle, until a monsoon thought it was ugly!  We then ended our beach adventure by catching sand fleas!  It was SO much fun!

We just had such a good time hanging with my family! We had adventures in my parent’s backyard! One day, Josh and I attempted to catch lizards.  We were successful twice!  I let the lizard I caught bite my ear and hang there so it looked like a lizard earring (my brothers and I used to do that as kids). Josh was determined to have a lizard-ring too, but the lizard he caught just wouldn’t bite him.  We waited and waited, but it just wouldn’t do it!  My hubby’s just soooo sweet! It really was so funny that we were so disappointed that a lizard wouldn’t bite him!  (ps…don’t attempt this at home without parental consent!)  J Disappointment subsided when we found lizard eggs AND a cool snake! Oh, my dad has a pond in his back yard with fish living in it. To our horror, my dad was looking at the bottom of the pond, and thought he saw a box turtle shell laying on the bottom of the pond! Box turtles CAN”T SWIM!!!! L My dad has always been a turtle saver, so he frantically began to fish it out when he realized it was only a coconut shell.  WHEW!!!  My parents have a parachute from the space shuttle in their back yard.  It basically serves as a HUGE hammock!  We had a lot of fun trying to bump my brother off the smaller hammock with the edge of our GI-Normous one!  Essentially, Josh and I just had fun being big kids! J

We had so much fun with my family! It was kind of hard to come back, but I’m truly so blessed to be apart of God’s work here in Nash-vegas!  I have a couple of interviews coming up and more Summer-fest tour dates!  Oh don’t forget to check out my website: lanaehale.com, b/c I have posted some pics from the tour! Go see if you’re up there!

Blessings to you all!

Until next time!

Summer-Fest Tour: Day 2

Hey Friends!

So yesterday we were at Ft. Leavenworth in Kansas! We got to play a show outside in front of a pretty lake for all the military families on base and anyone else who wanted to come from off post. We also had lunch with the base youth group! Honestly, everyone was SO nice and hospitable at Ft Leavenworth. My husband and I have family that is in the military and so we have a huge respect for those who are willing to serve us and our country. I was truly honored to be able to be apart of that event.

We are back in Missouri today and we’re playing a show in Springfield tonight, so if you guys live close you should come check it out!!! It’ll be a lot of fun!!

Blessings,

Lanae’ Hale
